4 Budget Lip Balms Reviewed

9:04 PM

Lip balms are like an absolute essential for me as i have super dry lips which go chapped and flaky at the drop of winter!

Lip balms have come a long way from the clear petroleum jelly aka Vaseline. Today we have a variety of lip balms available in various tints, flavors and finishes. This winter i decided to experiment with flavors and tried 4 different lip balms 3 from nivea and one from natures co and after using these for more than 3 months i present to you my verdict on them.

Nivea Lip Butter in Caramel creme :I dont usually buy lip balms in a tub as they tend to be a bit unhygienic but when it is packaged in such a cute tin can a girl resist? This lip balm isnt just cute but it heals chapped lips pretty well also this has a very divine caramel smell which doesn't linger for long . the texture is non sticky and smooth. this easily stays for 4 hours on my lips after which i have to reapply. On days when i want a clear lip balm this is what i reach out to. love it
Price: 189 for 16.9 g
Rating 4.5/5

The nature's co black current lip pop : i love blackcurrent as an ice cream flavour and when i spotted this lip balm in the same flavour i had to own it . this my first lip balm from natures co and since the flavour was very unique i was okay with paying 295 for a lip balm. the lip balm which comes in a twist up voilet packaging is travel friendly and have a light black current sort of fruity smell . This lip balm is gain non tinted and has smooth buttery texture although id love it if had a wee bit of tint for the price paid.  Overall id say this is a good and a unique which natural lip balm lovers should try . if you love black currant this is a must buy for you
Price: 295 for 5ml

Nivea fruity shine in Pink guava : I have been a fan of nivea fruity shine for a long time but this was the first time i used the flavour pink guava. I like guavas and this lip balms smells a bit like fruity guavas and has a light baby pink kind of tint to it. This works well on my lips and keeps it moisturized for about 2 hours but the effect isnt that good on chapped lips. Id call this lip balm a tinted protector rather than a healer. This flavour isnt easily available and if you dont have pigmented lips then this could be your MLBB lip gloss cum balm. this also has SPF so another win.
Price: 129 for  4.8 gm

Nivea Fruity shine in cherry: This is another varient from the fruity shine range which i  had never tried before.  The cherry flavour isnt as tinted as pink guava and looks like  a clear balm on my slightly tinted lips. even this balm smells deliciously fruity and leaves my lips soft and moisturized for about 2 hours. This one is ideal for people who want just a wee bit of hint of colour in their lip balms.

So that was me experimenting with different flavors last winter and as you can see from the ratings , i got lucky as all of them fared well on my lips .

Have you tried any of these lip balms ? which is your best budget pick?

* All photos in this post have been captured from the amazing #MyAsusZenfone 5 . This is an ideal phone for beauty blogging as photos come out sharp and clear. These photos have been captured in low light as it was windy in bangalore during my period of testing the Zenfone 5.

After testing the zenfone 5 for about 3 weeks iam very impressed with its camera and can safely say it is the best budget phone for beauty and fashion (and even lifestyle ) bloggers. I have always wanted to do a lot of beauty posts but my camera always seems to have a drained battery forcing me to postpone things. But with zenfone5 i have no such problems and instant blogging is possible. Also when i capture pictures with my camera then i have to transfer them using a USB cable and edit them on laptop before uploading on blogger but with Zenfone5 i capture phtos edit them right in my phone and upload them to blogger in a draft via my blogger app in phone. How very easy is that? The Lazy blogger in me totally loves this.
The pixelmaster camera captures amazing low light photographs and has various modes to choose from. All photos in this post are captured using the HDR mode which boosts image quality and captures high definition images. My sister loved the beautification mode which auto removed her pimple marks to give amazing glowing selfies. Smart remove, miniature, panaroma GIF animation are other interesting modes on the zenfone 5.. Thats not all the camera on Asus zenfone has more features like colour filters and background blur. My nephew loved the cartoon effect on the phone and clicked so many random phtos and tried to carbonize them.
Also for instagram lovers this phone is a boon to get amazing clicks and update instantly. I also uploaded some pics using my zenfone on instagram and got atleast 20% more likes thanks to photo clarity. Check my Instagram here for photos from the zenfone5 which are tagged with #zenfone5.
